Cryptocurrency OS is open source and based off Linux Mint (which is originally a Ubuntu which is derived from Debian Linux).
Compared to commercial and paid solutions you have full control over Cryptocurrency OS and you can see what is on it, what it does before even booting it.  You can verify the md5sums of the wallet applications yourself to see that they are the exact same download provided by the respective wallet maker.
